Stepping Into the Future: 2015 BEHLEN Dealer Summit

Another Dealer Summit has come and gone. This year we decided to mix things up a little bit and have our summit locally. Our company has come a long way in the past couple of years and we wanted to have the opportunity to show our dealers our upgraded facilities and where our people come from. Admittedly, we were all a little apprehensive to host our summit in Winnipeg, but the results were truly fantastic. 2015 marked the largest dealer summit we have had in recent history and despite the often unpredictable weather that can occur in Manitoba around this time of the year our dealers were greeted with nothing but sunshine and warmth. We started the 3 day summit with a Welcome Dinner, giving our dealers and BEHLEN staff the opportunity to reconnect and mingle with one another and of course get in a few rounds of ping pong. On day two we hopped on a shuttle from Winnipeg to Brandon where we hosted our BEHLEN Open House. The Open House was designed to showcase our newest employee… our robot welder! With nearly 200 guests in attendance from all across North America we let our new employee show off his one-of-a-kind skills. We finished off our second day of the summit at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights where we were given a fantastic tour of the facilities and galleries. We returned to the top floor terrace for an absolutely delicious meal, which even featured a poutine bar… how Canadian eh? On the final day of the summit we listened to our guest speaker Dr. John Izzo talk to us about the qualities of great leaders, with some helpful tips on how we can all improve our own leadership skills. After our guest speaker we spent the afternoon out on the town. Our dealers chose between paintball, an architectural tour of the city, a visit to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, or a beer and food tasting hosted at Fort Gibraltar. To keep with traditions, we closed out our dealer summit with our annual Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner where we honoured our top dealers for the previous year and of course had a little fun too. Overall the 2015 BEHLEN Dealer Summit was an overwhelming success. From the nice weather we were lucky enough to have to the Open House which went off without a hitch we truly embraced our chance to show our dealers how we are stepping into the future and leading the pre-engineered steel building industry in Canada. We also thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to show off all of the fantastic people that work for BEHLEN and are so appreciative of the nearly 100 volunteers that stepped up to help us make this year’s summit such a success!
