BEHLEN Hosting Westman Lean Consortium
What is a Lean Consortia?
A Lean Consortia is a group of organizations that gain powerful benefits through collaborative support, learning and networking. Members share improvement ideas and experiences, develop connections with fellow lean practitioners, and share costs of training and educational events. They find shared understanding that lean is more than a set of tools and techniques; it’s about relationships and learning from others about better ways to improve customer focused performance. Members grow together. Still want to know more about Lean? Click Here.
Why should you attend and become a member of a Consortia?
Besides all of the bench marking and networking opportunities mentioned above, becoming a member of a Consortia can help you improve your internal processes. Traditionally, consortium’s and Lean principles have often been thought of as something that is best suited for manufacturing environments. While there is no doubt that many of the founding principles of lean came from improved processes in the manufacturing industry, with notable leaders such as Toyota. However, the reality is that Lean principles can be executed in any company, in any industry.
The goal for the Westman Lean Consortium is to bring together local businesses and organizations that have an interest in learning and working with lean principles to make their processes more efficient and effective, while delighting their customer and increasing profits. Whether you are a public organization, a not-for-profit, a small local business, or a large manufacturing plant, you will be able to learn valuable information to fine tune your business as well as share stories with other members and together gain insight into the economic viability of your community and your business.
